Aresio Viveros

Dr. Aresio Viveros Zuazo earned his law degree summa cum laude from the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at the University of Lima in 2005. He has participated in numerous seminars and conferences on Civil, Administrative, and Regulatory Law. He also completed the Postgraduate Program in Energy Law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, the Master’s Program in Energy Management at ESAN University, as well as specialized courses in Arbitration, Government Procurement, Administrative Law, and Civil Law.

In academia, Dr. Viveros is a Professor of Civil Law at the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC), where he teaches courses in Contracts, Guarantees, Tort Law, and Legal Transactions.

He began his professional career with internships at prestigious law firms in 2002 and joined Luz del Sur S.A.A. in 2004, a leading electricity provider engaged in the distribution and commercialization of electric power in southern Metropolitan Lima, as well as other companies within the same corporate group involved in investments, real estate, services, and power transmission and generation.

Since 2008, Dr. Viveros has focused his practice on energy law and public utilities regulation, civil and regulatory law, and complex contractual negotiations. He has extensive experience representing clients in international arbitration proceedings before ICSID and the ICC, as well as in domestic arbitrations, in matters involving commercial, civil, infrastructure, energy, and public services disputes. His practice also encompasses legal counseling and advisory work in these areas, not only in connection with administrative and judicial litigation, but also in the preventive structuring of projects and contracts for infrastructure and public services.

In addition, Dr. Viveros serves as an arbitrator at the Lima Chamber of Commerce, the Arbitration Center of the Lima Bar Association, the Arbitration Center of the Piura Bar Association, and the Conciliation, Arbitration, and Dispute Board Center of the National Society of Construction and Infrastructure.
